Permanent Jewelry Pop-Up Checklist: Everything You Need for an Event or Party
For a permanent jewelry pop-up or private party, you need your welder and its accessories, chain and jump rings, your hand tools, eye protection, a digital waiver, a portable power source, a display, and a rolling case to carry it all. Forget one small thing, like a spare tungsten or the right jump rings, and a smooth event turns stressful fast. Use this checklist to pack the night before.

- Jump rings in the right sizes for each chain, with extras

1. Your welder and accessories
Your welder is the one thing you can't work without, so test it the day before. Pack:
- The welder, stylus, ground and power cord
- Spare tungsten electrodes, and a way to sharpen them. Tungsten needs regular sharpening, often every 5 to 8 welds.
- Your screen or eye protection setup

2. Chain and displays
Your chain is what people see first, so show every style clearly with a sample of each. Plan on about 2 ft of chain for every customer you expect, since people ask for anklets and necklaces as well as bracelets. Bring more of your best sellers.

3. Organized chain storage
Keep the chain you work from separate from your display, in a portable, organized case. Divided trays or small labeled pouches let you grab the right chain fast and put it back without tangles, even with a line at your table.
4. Jump rings

5. Hand tools
- Needle nose pliers and cutters
- A grounding tool, such as grounded pliers or an alligator clip
- Leather patch to protect your client's skin
- Fiberglass pen and jewelry cloth for a clean finish

6. Eye protection
The weld makes a quick, bright flash. Bring protective eyewear for yourself and for your client, plus a spare pair. Many artists use an auto-darkening (ADL) screen so they can see the weld clearly. Read more in Is Permanent Jewelry Safe?
7. Waivers
Have every client sign a waiver before you weld. A digital waiver with a QR code at your table lets people sign on their phone while they wait, keeps your records neat, and gives you their contact info (with permission) for follow-up. Paper waivers get lost, smudged and hard to read. Our starter kits include downloadable waiver templates, and we cover waivers in the training.
8. Portable power
Don't count on an outlet near your table. Our team recommends a Jackery 300 portable power station to run the welder at events. Charge it fully the night before, and pack an extension cord in case there is an outlet.
9. A rolling case

10. Tracking what each client gets
Keep a simple record of which chain, metal and size each client chose. Your digital waiver can hold it. It makes rewelds, repeat visits and restocking much easier.
Private parties: a few extras
- Confirm the guest count ahead of time so you bring enough chain.
- Ask about lighting, table space and outlets before you arrive.
- Send the waiver link to the host to share, so guests can sign before you get there.

Do I need argon at a pop-up?
No. Argon is optional. If you use it outdoors, bring a canopy or windbreak, because wind blows the argon away from the weld.
